PRESTON ENGLAND TEMPLE July 3, 2019
Sister Johnson and Sister Jones

Hello fam!  Sister Jones here. We arrived safely to the Manchester airport around 6:30 this morning. We started out with 11 of us on the SLC flight and by the time we got to England there were 22 of us missionaries! We didn't have our name tags but so many people stopped and stared. I can only imagine what was going through their head...

Once I met some of the people going to my mission, I started to get really excited. I've only gotten a couple hours of sleep in the past 48 hours and it's only 10 am here so I have a long day ahead of me! I'm praying that I'll make it through. When we boarded the Virgin Atlantic, I heard British accents left and right. I was freaking out. They call everyone darling and say cheers in about every other sentence. When they came around to collect trash they would say, "Any rubbish for the rubbish bin darling?" It made me smile.

So far, England hasn't looked too much different from the US besides driving on the opposite side of the road and no mountains. To be honest, my homesickness was masked by my excitement as soon as I got with the other missionaries. I know it will come back...soon probably. But I am really happy right now. The elders and sisters I have met are so fun to be with and I'm really looking forward to spending the next few weeks with them! Out of the 22 of us that traveled together, 3 are going to Scotland/Ireland, 6 to Manchester, and the rest to Leeds. I sat by Elder Stewart on both plane rides.

When I got to the Mtc I was given my name tag... but it doesn't feel real yet! I was assigned a companion, Sister Johnson, and will be with her until I go to Leeds. She goes to BYU and is in the Contemporary dance program so I was so excited to be assigned to her! We are going to the temple later today, which I am looking forward to. I also saw a flyer up for a 4th of July BBQ!! How fun?! My Pday is Tuesday so I'll tell you lots more then, but I just wanted to let you know that I arrived safely and I am so happy!!

Love, Sister Jones
