Hi. This week was hectic. Very good too, though. On Tuesday night we got a call from the Relief Society president, Ruby.
Sally had reached out to her and expressed that although she felt overwhelmed Sunday and decided to stop meeting with us, she still knew the church was true. We called Sally and talked about the power of the adversary when we are about to do something really good. After our conversation, she decided she wanted to go through with the baptism. MIRACLE. Sister Whitby and I scrambled to put together a baptism in 4 days!
Sally's baptism was so special. She bore testimony that blew everyone away. I am just overwhelmed thinking about the strong spirit I feel around her. I was living the scripture that says "And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying, repentance unto this people, and bring save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my father!" (D&C 18:15). I know that people refer this "one soul" as ourselves, but this week that one soul was Sally. My joy is so full!
On Friday I had a very sweet and unique experience. We taught a less active family from Ecuador, and because my Spanish skills are limited (aka..none) my dad was able to skype in to help translate the lesson. It was so special to teach with him for a few minutes. I am so grateful for the ability to use so much technology in the mission field now!
Earlier in the week we were out with an elderly couple in the ward that told us their favorite dessert was rhubarb and date pie. Well on Sunday we got an old margarine container filled with frozen dates and rhubarb to make our own pie. Bless them. I love the elderly English people so dearly.
Today we went to Sherwood Forest with Abi Pegg. We saw Major Oak (the tree where Robin hood would supposedly hide) and it was so cool!

Then we went to an American burger shop and I got a roast dinner burger. It was the most English/American mixed meal I've ever had! A burger filled with a yorshire pudding, stuffing, carrots, gravy and chicken...plus everything in a normal burger. Yum.

Lastly, I just wanted to share something that has been on my mind this week. And the first of the week, Sister Pegg suggested that my companion and I read the talk, "But if Not". The " but if not" principle is centered around what we put our faith in. For example, we may ask Heavenly Father to help us to heal from a sickness, "but if not," that he may help us to be strong enough to handle it. This places our faith is Jesus Christ rather than a circumstance. It shows that we have the faith that he can help us heal, but that If it isn't his will, that through his power we can do all things. I have begun to exercise this principle every single day in my prayers. I challenge you this week to #1 read this talk, and #2 include this principle in your prayer each night. It will help you to not only align your will with Gods, but to gear your faith towards being in Christ, rather than a circumstance.
(Here is the link to the talk).
Don't forget to smile this week! Ta!
